What Readers had to say about
"The Reflection" |
One
of the best thrillers I've read
If you love to read, you'll love this book. The Reflection
is a delicious masterpiece of twists and turns that will
take you on an incredible trip. It's one of the best stories
I've read and extremely well-written in a very visual style.
I couldn't put it down and finished the book in 2 days!
Great writing, great story, great ending! What more can
I say? I highly recommend it. |

An
Exciting--Fun Read
From the opening sentence to the closing line, The Reflection
is captivating, compelling and an exciting--fun read. I
found myself trying to outwit the author at every twist
of the plot, only to be surprised and out-smarted each time
by the cleverness of the story. Joe Bright's vivid description
of the locale made me want to re-visit England just to search
for the manor and his portrayal of the characters made them
so very believable.
My copy
of the sequel, The Key, just arrived from Amazon and if
it is as good as The Reflection, then I want to read everything
written by the talented Mr. Bright.

Suspenseful
with many twists
The Reflection keeps you hanging on for almost the entire
book. There are many twists and turns to keep you totally
intrigued. He builds the characters so completely that you
feel you know them personally. I have been reading (or been
read to) suspense novels from a very early age. Good luck
in figuring out the ending before it happens.
I recommend
buying "The Key" (the sequel) at the same time
because you won't want to wait to find out what happens
next.

Excellent and fast read!
The first night I read it was just before bed--huge mistake.
The haunted house scenes (there are few so I'm not giving
anything away) prevented me from turning off my night light.
If you
think you can pin the ending of this book Joe thought ten
steps ahead of you. I was constantly guessing and never
too sure how it would end.
The
main character, Bren, is well-developed and likeable, you
want to meet him and make him a friend.
I LOVE
murder mystery and I LOVED this book. Just try and put this
book down, I dare you.

Engrossing
I challenge you to put this book down for it will keep you
guessing until the end! More than a mystery novel, the main
character's observations on human nature strike a chord. Strongly
recommend this book. |

ORCHESTRAL!
This story kept me in suspense. I couldn't put it down.
Even towards the end I read slowly, because I didn't want
it to end. The ending surprised me, but I need more closure.
This story needs a sequel! The author is really good at
his craft. Thank you for the entertainment!

to read. I could not put the book down until I finished it!
The story is full of twists and turns, and it keeps you on

I couldn't
put it down. The writer kept my attention throughout the
whole book! It was like watching a movie - I kept thinking
Bren how can you stay in that house! And then to find out
what was happening. What an imagination...

Great
Story
This was a great book that kept my attention. I could hardly
put it down to get anything else done. I finished it in
a couple of days. I noticed he left the end open for a sequel.
I can hardly wait for him to write another one. Keep up
the good work.

I
Love a Mystery
Joe Bright has created mysteries within mysteries in this
intriguing story about a young man's inheritance. The storyline
is as complex as any good mystery could be and kept me guessing
until the end. Better still, he leaves us with enough mystery
to eagerly anticipate the sequel.
I appreciated
the fact that the characters are developed enough to understand
them, but not in such depth that it reads like a series
of biographies.
Some
might think it was missing elements of romance, but I think
there was just enough to fit the story and not distract
from the mysteries.

What Readers had to say about
"The Key" |
Fans
of Dean Koontz and Stephen King will enjoy this book!
Sly humour and sophisticated plotting in this twisty tale
that continues to surprise as it entertains. Set in London,
this gothic thriller will lead you back and forth in time
as the evil Maxwell Raleigh detours fate for those unfortunate
enough to enter his realm. Snappy dialogue with nail-biting
suspense will keep the reader entranced to the end and wishing
for more.

Vivid
and Visceral
What if you had the opportunity to take revenge on all your
enemies without their knowledge, in fact, in the past before
they became your enemies? Meet Maxwell Raleigh, the most opportunistic
villain since Jack the Ripper. Max will lead you and his would-be
captors on a wild chase from the Beatles Sixties Liverpool
through modern day London. Mr. Bright is a master of the 'what-if'
story, sometimes humourous, sometimes shocking , but always
mesmerizing!

Sexy
villain!
"The Key" is an absorbing combination of sci fi
time travel and thriller that will rivet you to its pages
right up to its' shocking conclusion. The Key introduces Maxwell
Raleigh, the most original, intelligent and sexy villain since
Hannibal Lecter. You may find yourself rooting for this evil
wit as he dances ahead of his would-be captors through time.
Wonderfully crafted with a memorable assortment of characters,
I highly recommend this wonderfully entertaining book!! |

In
the genre of Michael Connelly and Clive Cussler
Pure fun... Bright's ability to up-date the past with the
actions of the present lends fresh twists to this unrelenting
thriller. Combine a chilling villain, an obsessive chase,
some romance and crisp dialogue and you have Joe Bright's
latest and best novel to date!!

Fast-Paced
Brilliance
A brilliantly written, fast-paced, spine-chiller is Joe Bright's
The Key. The action in this unnerving story does not end until
you turn that very last page. Blended with all the action
and intensity of the plot is the witty dialogue which is replete
with sarcastic repartee and humor. Step by step, from beginning
to end, are the well-developed brave and undaunted characters,
but center stage is the most despicable, cunning villain you
will love to hate. Twisting its way through the streets of
London, back and forth through time, your interest in this
tale will never wane nor will you ever want it to end.
But,
beware, do not read The Key late at night as you might find
yourself, as I did, trying to fall asleep hidden under the
covers with all the lights on.

Darker
than Harry Potter but just as fun
I loved Joe Bright's first book The Reflection, but The Key
is even better. It had me biting my nails page after page.
If you love Harry Potter, you'll love The Key. Though this
one isn't for the kids. If you haven't read this book, you're
missing one of the best books on the market today. |

Mystery
Fans should read this book
The Key, the sequel to Joe Bright's previous book, isn't The
Reflection part II. It's storyline is quite independent from
the first.
Pace,
storyline and character development are what I look for
in books, in that order. The pace is excellent, the storyline
is complex but not convoluted and the characters are people
you grow to love (and hate).
The
ending catches you off guard so don't even try to guess.

Wow!
Joe Bright has another winner! I enjoyed this book so much
that it was difficult to put it down until I finished it.
The story was exciting, intense, captivating and held my
interest until the end. It was easy to visualize the characters
in their settings and become immersed in the story and lost
in time. I believe this would make an excellent movie and
am recommending the book to all of my friends.
