are some of my favorite novels, based strictly on their writing
style and entertainment value, rather than critical acclaim;
though, some have received that as well. Middlesex,
for example, won the Pulitzer Prize and deservedly so.
Several
of them have been made into movies, but readers all know
that the books are better 99% of the time. If you've seen The Prince of Tides but haven't read the book, you're
in for a treat. It's one of my all time favorites.
